De cine… Sus Festivales y Premiaciones: ¿Qué viene primero el huevo o la gallina?
Esta incógnita siempre nos ha perseguido, por suerte, aunque parezca confuso identificar qué viene primero, si los festivales o las premiaciones, no lo es. Tenemos una conjetura que aunque no es infalible, si es muy certera. Las películas que vimos en los festivales o en las salas de cine, etc. en el 2022, son las que serán consideradas en las premiaciones del 2023. Hay excepciones como los Premios Ariel de México que se llevaron a cabo en diciembre del 2022.
Ya que mencionamos a México, hagamos un recuento de varios otros países que premian la excelencia de su cine, etc. En Estados Unidos se otorga el Oscar; en Francia se premia con el César; en Italia se entrega el David di Donatello. Por su parte, en España se premian con los Goya, mientras que Argentina dan el Cóndor de Plata y en Alemania, los premios Lola.
El que hoy nos ocupa es el BAFTA (British Academy Film and TV Arts / Academia Británica de las Artes Cinematográficas y de la Televisión, en español) que la semana pasada anunció sus nominaciones.
En el mismo se premian cuatro categorías de películas: Mejor Película, Mejor Británica, Mejor en idioma que no sea Inglés y Mejor Animada; por lo tanto, la Mejor Británica y la Mejor No Inglés se cancelan entre ellas, eso trae como resultado que solo dos películas aparezcan en dos encasillados: All Quiet in the Western Front de Alemania (Mejor Película y No en Inglés) y Banshees of Inisherin (Mejor Película y Mejor Británica). - Lea el artículo completo por Raúl Garriga

It is going to be held for the first time in person in Manila, Philippines between the 16th-20th of November. It’s the most important initiative promoting independent Cinema in Poland and one of the most important initiatives in the world.
Brought to life in 2006 World’s Independent Cinema Awards GRAND OFF is a cultural event that draws attention on the phenomen of independent cinema and gives it a proper rank, seriousness and prestige. Most interesting independent productions from all over the world are subjected to preselection and typed by the professional Nomination Committee for awards in eleven categories: screenplay, director, picture, editing, scenography, actress, actor, best plot, documentary, animation and best polish movie. Nominated films are evaluated by an international jury formed by more than 80 film experts, theorists, directors, operators, editors, and actors from more than 30 countries. Awards in the form of statuettes are given during the festivals Gala that is taking place on the 3th December 2022 this year. Earlier, during the festival, in one of the Warsaw’s cinemas there’s a dedicated to viewers variated, interesting program.
In 2021 4183 films were submitted from 120 countries.
On every festival we welcome and reward special guests. The festival aims to create an atmosphere of exchange of experiences between filmmakers from all over the world and to give short filmmakers the opportunity to present their films, whether narrative, documentary, or animation, to the public, with the aim of fostering fruitful discussions between filmmaker and audience and providing a safe platform to present their work.
